Temporary assemblage sculpture constructed from redundant computer equipment.

Further information

A secret stockpile of redundant computer equipment was discovered in a dusty locked storeroom. By asking around, I learned that the equipment was all destined for disposal, yet had been forgotten for a long time. I cut a deal – I could use as much of it as I liked, so long as I disposed of it properly thereafter.

I created a series of experimental assemblage sculptures in my studio, responding to the rectilinear aesthetic of the objects, and their grey or beige colour. Notably everything was dust-covered, grimy, faded: the opposite of the stereotypical aesthetic for technology.
